Nearby you will find the remains of the old Roman city of Glanum. As a cycling base for the Provence, Luberon, or Camargue region Saint-Remy-de-Prove is hard to beat! For cycling hit the road across the lavender fields and fruit trees and cycle through beautiful Avignon or Chateauneuf du Pape.
We recommend the route southwards you take the road to the Camargue area and reach the Natural Regional Park of the Alpilles. You first visit the village of Fontvieille, where you can admire the windmill that inspired the writer and poet Daudet. Enjoy the typically Provencal ambiance of this village. Don’t forget the Baux de Provence, one of the most beautiful villages in France, which offers breathtaking views over the Alpilles.
For nice routes around St-Rémy-de-Provence, we recommend a ride to Chateauneuf du Pape. This charming little village is world-famous for its wine (The secret of the excellent Chateauneuf du Pape wine comes from the red clay soil). Cycling around Orange and Chateauneuf du Pape is relatively flat with some rolling hills.
