The region of Pontevedra has perfect facilities for all cyclists. There is no noise from buses or busy honking vehicles. If you hear anything noisy at all, it’s the gaiters, the bagpipers. If what you’re planning is a bit of bicycle tourism to quietly pedal around Vigo, the da Auga Route is for you. It runs parallel to the Vigo Estuary and has wonderful views. There are also shorter and more comfortable areas for a bike ride with children, like the Bouzas Promenade. Vigo is also one of the cities that are settled near the Santiago de Compostela route. Maybe you will see walkers or cyclists on their way to Santiago de Compostela. Or jump on your bike and cycle 30km to Pontevedra. The city of Pontevedra is located on the so-called Camino Portugués, the pilgrimage route that leads from Portugal to Spain’s most famous pilgrimage site.
